Basotho National Party leader Chief Thesele Maseribane says the late Dr. Leabua Jonathan ensured protection of members of the African National Congress during the Maseru Massacre.

Basotho National Party leader Chief Thesele Maseribane says the late Dr. Leabua Jonathan ensured protection of members of the African National Congress during the Maseru Massacre.
Chief Maseribane said this at the Maseru Massacre that was held in Bloemfontein yesterday. He said during the massacre that happened on the 9th December 1982 and in 1985 people were killed, therefore Dr. Jonathan declared the day as a public holiday.
Speaking at the same event one of the ANC veterans Dr. Matwa Matwa indicated that he was at that known as a dentist who fled the country that time, said BNP leadership suffered in the 1980’s due to ANC struggle hence the relationship.
