The government of Lesotho has condemned allegations that some or one of the members of the Gupta family fled into the country from South Africa.

According to the statement from the Press Secretary to Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Thabo Thakalekoala, the allegations also indicated that those members of Gupta family were welcomed at Maseru Bridge by government vehicles owned by the Prime Minister, Dr. Motsoahae Thabane.

The statement also indicated that the allegations are unfounded and that they are intended to confuse Basotho as well as to tarnish the good relations between Lesotho and South Africa.
