The minister of health Hon Nkaku Kabi says the eradication of polio in three countries namely Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland is very vital as it enhances the ministry’s commitment towards free polio related deaths and paralysis.

The minister of health Hon Nkaku Kabi says the eradication of polio in three countries namely Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland is very vital as it enhances the ministry’s commitment towards free polio related deaths and paralysis.

This Kabi said during the official launch of the 21st intercountry certification committee meeting held in Maseru on Monday where he indicated that vaccination and strengthening of health services can help in the eradication of this disease in these three countries.

Meanwhile who spoke on behalf of World Health Organisation representative Mrs. Mantsane Tsoloane Bolepo said the main cause of polio is polio virus and that the disease is common among children between the ages of 5 although rare cases are still reported for adults.
