Associate Professor of Political Science at the National University of Lesotho Professor Motlamelle Kapa says South African officers working at Maseru border post have to be investigated if another humiliation to King Letsie III is to be avoided.
Kapa was commenting on the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa, Ms. Lindiwe Sisulu on Friday to apologise to the King for the ill-treatment he had to endure at the border on the said date. He indicated that although it is proper that Sisulu came to apologize to the King, the matter cannot be taken only on face value, but in-depth investigations have to be done in order to ensure that a cause of action is taken and those responsible are held accountable.
On Friday, Sisulu presented King Letsie III with a cow as a gesture of remorse for ill-treatment that he was exposed to by South African border employees at the Maseru border post.
