Lesotho Correctional Services officers who have been summoned to appear before the ombudsman inquiry committee say the fear for their lives after receiving threats upon giving evidence regarding LCS promotions.

Lesotho Correctional Services officers who have been summoned to appear before the ombudsman inquiry committee say the fear for their lives after receiving threats upon giving evidence regarding LCS promotions.

In their plea before the ombudsman Adv. Leshele Thoahlane, they asked for protection from his office as they said they no longer feel safe after their appearance before the committee. They further alleged that they were told that they would be dealt with accordingly by their supervisors regarding their complaints about this promotion issue that is before the ombudsman.

Meanwhile, Adv. Thoahlane allayed their fears and noted that their concern has been reported to the commanding officer of the Maseru police Supt Letsie.

The summoned LCS officers are reported to have received charge letters from their seniors for missing work after they were called to appear before the ombudsman committee.
