The wife of the late commander of Lesotho Defense Force Lt. Gen Maaparankoe Mahao Mrs. Mamphanya Mahao says the judiciary in Lesotho sector takes a long time to serve justice to the people.
Mahao said this during people’s summit on democracy, governance and human rights discussion platform this past week held in Namibia citing that in the case of his husband’s murder one Lesotho Defense Force officer the late Brigadier Bulane Sechele stood before court confirming that he was the one who led an operation that resulted in his husband’s death no action were taken even beyond the SADC’s decision which the then government labeled as recommendations which are not necessarily mandatory .
At least 4.4 million people in 95 countries are stateless or of undetermined nationality. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in its annual report marking the 9th anniversary of its #IBelong campaign said, the actual figure globally is believed to be significantly higher, given the relative invisibility of stateless people in national statistical exercises.
