As part of efforts to overcome hunger and ensure safety amid Covid-19 pandemic, the Embassy of United Arab Emirates (UAEAID) yesterday donated food commodities, toiletries and sanitisers to the Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS).

Handing over the donations, Mr. Omar Shehata from UAEAID highlighted that they have decided to disinfect prisons and a total of 100 schools countrywide, noting that at least 10 schools per district will be sanitised.

He indicated that they chose the places because this is where a large number of people gather, hence the need to be sanitised in order to combat the virus.

Receiving the donations, LCS Commissioner Mr. Thabang Mothepu said they came at an opportune time for prison inmates, officers as well as the entire country.
