The former Commissioner of Lesotho Correctional Services Thabang Mothepu says his termination of contract was politically motivated.

Mothepu said this in an interview with PCFM this morning where he explained that even though his contract was procedurally terminated by the minister he is certain that is was influenced by a syndicate of colleagues who were determined to oust him.

He said that he is also certain that the same syndicate was against his appointment and the very same people were also involved in his poisoning.

Mothepu explained that political leaders have influence in all security institutions and this has resulted in bad service delivery making an example that people are promoted with the influence of political leaders while there are dedicated officers who work hard but are not recognized.

He said reasons for termination of contract among other reasons is the fact that he was not complying with the orders from the minister of Law which is utterly false but a plan to purposely fire him from his job.

Mothepu therefore warned the minister to focus on serious matters that remain a challenge in Lesotho correctional services like food security and people who helped the notorious double murder prisoner Lehlohonolo Scott to escape.
