The minister of water Hon. Nkaku Kabi has commended the villagers of Qalabane in Mafeteng for protecting pastures and water sources.

Kabi said this during his tour at Qalabane in Mafeteng where he said his wish in these two years in government is to travel all the districts teaching communities about the importance of soil conservation, water sources and wetlands to return the country’s nature to its natural habitat.

The community of Qalabane explained that their environment is desert-like and ploughing becomes unsuccessful, their animals die of hunger but since 2015 after receiving some training for conserving rangelands they have since benefited.

The Principal Chief of Likhoele Chief Lerotholi Leshoboro Seeiso thanked all community chiefs who have worked hard to make the villagers understand the importance protecting the environment and giving it life.
