About 800 factory workers at NIENHSING Group are on the verge of losing their jobs.

This was disclosed by the National Clothing Textile and Allied Workers Union (NACTWU) Secretary General Mr. Samuel Mokhele where he said NIENHSING Group has two factories of which each is going to retrench 400 workers possibly by end of the month.

He said in a series of meetings they have had with management of the NIENHSING Group, they complained that due to Covid-19 they have lost business and are not making any profits as before.

The factory management also indicated that their production is very low because there are no orders emphasizing that if they keep the workers they might be forced to close shop.

Mr. Mokhele highlighted that they have met with investment committee as well as government to try and come up with a reasonable solution but to no avail.
