Mosenene applauds Sekola for immediate response

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Hon. Kemiso Mosenene has commended the Deputy Minister of Water Hon. Lepota Sekola for immediate response of a three months plight of lack of clean water supply at Welkom in Quthing Urban Council that led residents to fetch water from unprotected wells and Qomo-Qomong River.

Speaking at a public gathering held to address the plight of lack of Water Supply at Welkom, Mosenene who is also a member of parliament for Quthing expressed gratitude for team work of ministers and members of parliament in public service delivery despite their different political affiliations.

Meanwhile speaking at the same gathering, the Deputy Minister of Water Hon. Lepota Sekola said his office received a formal written report of a challenge of lack of clean water in the area on Monday and he felt committed to work with offices responsible and to address the issue, adding that the Water and Sewage Company (WASCO) is currently working on the problem that has been caused by heavy rains that affected the water supply system and temporary solution in process will provide water to the residents on Sunday.

Sekola said his office will, next Monday, visit the village to follow up whether or not the residents access clean water. He further said the office will also present a water tank to Sekants’ing Residents where villagers are also faced with a challenge of lack of clean water supply services from WASCO and the water tank will be refilled by the department of Rural Water Supply (RWS) tanker while measures to address Sekants’ing clean water supply project are in process.
