C&Y and Global garments factory workers in Maseru are continuing with their strike regarding salary increment.

This follows the government’s publishing of the 2021/2022 salary increment gazette, which stated that factory workers ’salaries have been adjusted by 14% while other sectors have got 9% increment.

NACTWU’s secretary general Mr. Sam Mokhele said the workers are not satisfied with the 14% and are demanding their 20% increase. He indicated that they are still adamant that they will only go back to work upon the publishing of the 2020/2021 salary increment gazette which has to include arrears from April last year to March this year.
