The Ministries of Social Development and Health have completed a disability grant assessment exercise in two districts of BB and Leribe.

The Ministry of Social Development’s Senior Information, Education and Communication Officer Mrs. Mpho Makhetha says the exercise comprised data collection, social and medical assessments.

Makhetha said data collection and social assessment have also been completed in the districts of Thaba-Tseka, Mohale’s Hoek and Quthing, indicating that the medical assessment which is done by doctors from the Ministry of Health is due to continue in these three districts.

Earlier, the Minister of Social Development Mrs. ‘Matebatso Doti had indicated that the disability grant will be given based on medical confirmation and assessment on individual’s vulnerability, appealing for cooperation from the public during this exercise.
