The deputy Minister of Home Affairs Mr. Maimane Maphathe has advised Basotho to be registered with the ministry, so that they can be in possession of national identity documents.

Maphathe said this while addressing Ha Abia villagers where the ministry has placed officers to facilitate the application of national identity documents such as birth certificates and national identification cards.

He showed that obtaining national identity documents is vital for every citizen as it helps with proper national statistics, which are used in the country’s strategic and developmental plans.

On behalf of the community Mrs. Malehlohonolo Kopano thanked the ministry for bringing services closer to the villagers as it has become costly and time consuming for them to go to town to access them.
