The Lesotho Public Service Staff Association (LEPSSA) says it’s looking forward to what the upcoming 2022/23 budget has in store for the public servants.

LEPSSA Maseru Region Public Relations Officer Mr. Rankalele Seakhi said that for the past two years public servants have not had any increment yet the inflation is very high.

Seakhi said that with the current situation of increased cost of living, public servants are left broke with nothing to support their families.

He said as an association they would like to see government phasing out grades A and B suggesting that at least the lowest grade should be C.

He said they are suggesting that for the 2022/23 financial year, government should give public servants an increment of at least 15% which they hope that it would cover the two years that there has not been any increase on public servants’ salaries.
