The Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Motlalentoa Letsosa addressed youth and school children in a public outreach on trafficking in persons and internal displacement of persons in an at Thetsane High School in Maseru today.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Motlalentoa Letsosa addressed youth and school children in a public outreach on trafficking in persons and internal displacement of persons in an at Thetsane High School in Maseru today.

Letsosa said incidents of human trafficking can be reduced as long as Basotho can work together by reporting any suspicious acts which can be associated with human trafficking.

He pleaded with parents and guardians to ensure that they monitor their children’s cell phones use as they usually fall victim to human trafficking through usage of social media platforms.

The Principal of Thetsane high school Mr Ts’oanelo Seboka applauded the ministry for the effort saying, it will help children avoid incidents of this nature.

Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary of the same ministry Mr. Tumelo Raboletsi explained that, the month of January has been earmarked by the world as the human trafficking awareness month, showing that about 25 million of the global population falls victim of human trafficking annually.
