Wool and Mohair Promotion Project -WAMPP under its Livestock Production and Management Component, will hold its fourth annual ram and ewe auction in Quthing on Wednesday.
WAMPP’s Knowledge Management Officer Mr. Phomolo Lebotsa said, the auction aims to improve the quality of wool and mohair production in the country.
Lebotsa said the project helps farmers to improve the quality and quantity of wool produced by Lesotho’s smallholder wool and mohair producers, by making improved genetics more accessible.
WAMPP’s Project Director, Mr. Retšelisitsoe Khoalenyane stated that, more than 150 rams and ewes will be sold under the hammer. Khoalenyane mentioned that, the auction is open to local and international bidders.
