About twenty graves are reported to have been affected by recent floods and mudslides in Thaba Nts’o Mokhotlong.

The coffins are said to be covered in debris, with four of them exposing bodies that could be easily identified.

The Community Councillor for Masaleng Mr. Bakang Lesala said, they are desperate for some machinery which could be used to remove the bodies and other graves from the mud and debris, to be re-buried at a new cemetery that has already been identified.

Lesala said besides the graves, three houses built down the slope were also affected by the mudslide. He also urged villagers  to report any unusual incidents that occurred due to these floods.

Mokhotlong District Disaster Management Office visited the area on Tuesday to assess the situation.
