The High Court has once again sworn-in another Acting Judge Palesa Rantara, bringing the total number of acting judges of the high court to three.

The High Court has once again sworn-in another Acting Judge Palesa Rantara, bringing the total number of acting judges of the high court to three.

The new Acting Judge took a judicial oath which was administered by Justice Tseliso Monaphathi.

Justice Monaphathi said, the High Court has lost judges in the past two years and that, appointing acting judges will help address a backlog of criminal cases before the court. He expressed hope that there will be progress with the cases by April this  year.

The new Acting Judge Rantara who has been serving as a magistrate, is expected to work together with Acting Judges Tsábo Matooane and Semapo Peete in dealing with the chosen 35 cases until April.
