The public has applauded the government for installing traffic lights around Maseru city center.

One of the road users Ms. Tebello Ts’oeu said, the installation of the traffic lights is going to lower the number of road accidents that usually occur within the city during peak hours.

The Roads Directorate Public Relations Manager Mrs. Nosezolo Matela indicated that, the retrofit of the Maseru city lights has been made possible with the funding from the Lesotho Road Fund.

Matela said that though the installation has not been made in all the places that are considered as hotspots, they will be installed, with possible extension to other districts, once funding is available.

This 4 months project will cost the government an estimated M15million.
