Lesotho Defence Force Public Relations office says, the army in collaboration with the police conducted animal assessment operation in Lebakeng, Nts’upe, Leseling and Khatleng in Qacha’s Nek.

The press statement said both LDF and the police discovered that most of the animals do not have documentation and are from South Africa. In this operation 68 cattle, 29 horses and 7 donkeys were recovered.

The security forces together with their counter parts from South Africa in their operation known as M2120 in Ngoajane, also found 5 cattle that were abandoned near Manoeleng river.

The suspects had abandoned them after realizing that the army was on their trail.
