The Minister of Public Works Mr. Lebohang Monaheng has called for unity amongst Contractors saying it is the only way to fight unemployment within the industry. The Minster said this during his meeting with  Contractors in Maseru yesterday.

 Monaheng said scarcity of jobs in the country did not only hit the building industry only but all the sectors, and this was excarcebated by COVID-19 pandemic.

 The Director of Buildings Design Services Mrs. Lineo Lerotholi Mosoeunyane shared the same sentiments, also saying that the building industry is a lead to economic growth and the ministry’s focus is to make the industry worthy.

 She said they are fighting for excellent work that will be recommendable and worthy to compete internationally.

Some of the Contractors raised their concerns on policies and strategies that are made for them without being consulted. One of them Mrs. Mamakamane Makamane said, they are robbed their rights to express their views on the issues that concern them and that has proved to be a stumbling block in the progress of their work.
