The Mokhotlong District Child Protection Team has been encouraged to start preparing for the commemoration of the African Child Day since Mokhotlong will be the host for this year’s national event.

This was said by the Child Protection Manager Mrs. ‘Mantoa Sejake from the Ministry of Social Development during a meeting with members of the Team in Mokhotlong yesterday.

Sejake said the district team should gear up for the national commemoration adding that activities should be more child focused. She said the event will be commemorated with the theme on eliminating harmful practices that affect children.

The African Child Day is commemorated annually on the 16th of June 16.
