At least 19 youths in Leribe are being equipped with skills on the produ tion of wool and mohair products by the Department of Home Economics under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

 

Home Economics Officer Mrs. Rethabile Motake says, the purpose of the training is to empower youth in income generating activities to overcome the high unemployment rate in the country, through the use of available resources such as wool and mohair.

 

Motake said they produce woolen products that include scarves, hats, mats and shoes to mention few, which they are expected to sell upon the completion of the training
