The Minister of Forestry Mr. Motlohi Maliehe has commended Finance Minister Mr. Thabo Sofonea for preparing the budget even under challenging times of COVID-19 pandemic, which for the past two years, has been ravaging the world.

Speaking for the motion to give general approval to the financial proposals for the year 2022/2023 Maliehe said, Finance Minister managed to come up with the budget despite severe economic decline caused by COVID-19 and that with the budget, the Government will be able to address the challenges facing Basotho in the villages such as destruction of roads and bridges caused torrential rains.

On the contrary, an opposition member from   the Alliance of Democrats Mr. Kose Makoa was adamant that he does not support this budget and should not be given a green light.
