The African Union’s Commissioner on Political Affairs, Peace and Security Mr. Bankole Adeoye yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Dr. Moeketsi Majoro.

The African Union’s Commissioner on Political Affairs, Peace and Security Mr. Bankole Adeoye yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Dr. Moeketsi Majoro.

The Chairperson of the Peace and Security Council and also Lesotho’s Ambassador to the African Union Professor Mafa Sejanamane said, it is in this meeting where Dr. Majoro described the political status in the country, progress on the reforms as well as preparatory activities ahead of the elections to be later this year.

Prof Sejanamane said, this is a great opportunity especially since it is the last month of Lesotho chairing Peace and Security Council saying, they are thankful for the support that Lesotho received from AU.

Meanwhile Commissioner Adeoye expressed commitment as AU on the Security Council and all councils and affirmed their support in Lesotho’s reforms. He added that they are ready to support Lesotho’s elections saying, upon their return to Addis Ababa, they will review their commitment and come back to ensure effective preparations for the elections.
