Maseru Region Taxi Operators -MRTO says, it will start its strike on Wednesday next week.
MRTO’s Spokesperson Mr. Lebohang Moea said they have made a decision to go on strike following government’s failure to meet with them and address their issues.
He said that issues like fuel prices, transportfare prices and service prices at Traffic Department are amongst their issues of concern which they want government through the Ministry of Transport to address saying, for the longest time, the ministry has failed to heed their pleas.
He also noted that, they were dismayed by government’s actions through the Maseru City Council, where last Friday, it stopped one of the operators who was filling potholes at Ha Abia. Moea said this was uncalled for especially since government has failed to maintain and rehabilitate roads which they as taxi operators, get taxed on.
