Cross Border Crime Prevention Forum will hold its first meeting in Kwazulu Natal South Africa on the 11th of next month since the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions at border posts.
According to the forum’s Coordinator Mr. Litaba Mohapi, the meeting will bring together stakeholders from both Lesotho and South Africa based in the northern region particularly in Botha-Bothe, Qwaqwa, Ficksburg and Sani Pass borders.
Mohapi said the meeting is intended to address cross border crime particularly stock-theft and human trafficking and also to map a way forward.
He said they have learned that stock-theft escalated during COVID-19 lockdown because criminals took advantage of the restrictions, urging all stakeholders to attend the meeting in order to root out cross border crime.
