Maseru City Council officials were robbed an undisclosed amount of money yesterday morning on their way to the bank.

MCC Public Relations Manager Mrs. ‘Makatleho Mosala said the council’s vehicle carrying their accountant, was about to leave the building when three men armed with guns came to the vehicle and ordered the accountant to get out.

Mosala said they then took the money and ran towards Mpilo road where they got into their getaway vehicle which is reported to be a Jeep noting that the accountant could not disclose the stolen amount as police investigations are continuing

Mosala also said although this is a first robbery at MCC, there had been an earlier attempt to break into the Accounts Office in which she said no suspect was caught.
