The Prime Minster Dr. Moeketsi Majoro says for democracy to prevail, amongst other things, justice has to be served
This Dr. Majoro said during the official opening of the northern division of the high court at Ts’ifa-li-Mali in Leribe today, where he showed that, his government has worked tirelessly to build this court which will serve about 600, 000 residents in the north.
He said courts should be independent and coordinate their work with other departments and that this can be achieved if they have enough resources. Majoro mentioned that, there is still a long way to go for the government to deliver services to the public, however, he is happy that people from the north will no longer travel to Maseru to get this service.
Meanwhile the minister of law and Justice Adv. Lekhetho Rakuoane said, he was proud that the government has reached one of the major milestones of bringing judicial services closer to where they are needed, especially now when criminal activities are on the rise in the country
Present at this ceremony included the Principal chiefs of Leribe and Mamathe, Chiefs Joel Mots’oene and Khabasheabe Masupha respectively and senior government officials.
