The Chief Information Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Mr. Lereko Masupha says winter cropping is progressing smoothly as expected.
Masupha reminded farmers that the government has provided a subsidy of 60 percent for seeds and fertilizers, which are now available in all the districts.
He further urged those who will engage in block farming, to plant at suitable fields to make it easy for harvesting machines to reach such fields.
One of the farmers Mr. Moshoeshoe Motsoela urged farmers to take advantage of recent weather conditions and plant wheat and peas as they are still on time.
Motsoela also encouraged those who did not get good yield during summer cropping not to be discouraged as the cost of living has become extremely high.
