Central Bank of Lesotho has a new governor. The bank says Dr. Maluke Letete, brings with him, significant experience of the CBL’s mandate to the role, having sat on the Bank’s Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director for more than five years.
It says he served as Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of Accountability Unit and has also held senior roles at the National University of Lesotho.
Mr. Lehlomela Mohapi, who acted as the Governor since January this year, was appointed as the First Deputy Governor
Mohapi was the Chief Economist and Director of Research and Secretary of the Monetary Policy Committee of the central bank for over nine years. He also served as the Lesotho Revenue Authority’s chairman of the board and The Executive Secretary for the Lesotho Communications Authority.
