Minister of Police and Public Safety Mr. Lepota Sekola says he denounces police brutality in all its forms.

This, the Minister said following a case where police are said to have assaulted Qoaling residents in Maseru.

It is reported that unidentified police officers assaulted people at a Qoaling bar on Saturday night. Lithoteng police are currently investigating the matter and has called upon the victims to do an official report.

Sekola said after getting the report regarding the incident, he then visited the victims to assess the extend of the damage. He said he was very disappointed with those police officers but will ensure that they are brought before the law.

Qoaling’s Chief Mrs. ‘Mataelo Matsoso also expressed her disappointment saying, this was uncalled for as the bar was well within its operating hours.
