World Vision Lesotho today held a one-day workshop on child protection for media practitioners

The workshop also served as an introductory event to a competition on child protection published stories from individual media practitioners.

World Vision’s National Director Mrs. ‘Maseisa Ntlama said although they are focusing on a number of pillars, child protection forms the center pillar which they are mostly focused on.

Ntlama said the workshop was necessitated by high incidences of reported cases of child exploitation on issues such early marriage, child sexual exploitation and human trafficking

The Director-Child Protection Services in the Ministry of Social Development Mrs. Mookho Motheo showed that, child protection is a national concern and should be treated as thus while Ms. Nthatuoa Koeshe from News Day newspaper acknowledged the information they got and said they will ensure that it reaches all
