The Independent Democratic Union of Lesotho -IDUL has refuted social media allegations that two factories are going to retrench their workers

Mr. ‘Mei Rathakane from IDUL said, it is not true that Suntax and Global Garments are on the process of retrenching their workers by the end of this month and December saying that, they have met with management of the two factories who assured them that they are not going to close shop.

Rathakane said they have been notified by the concerned factories that since their work is seasonal and it is Winter in the United States of America, the orders are very low and as a result, they have opted to engage temporary workers.

He noted that this is normal at this time of the year and that workers are very much aware of the situation.
