The Director of Migrants Association of Lesotho Mr. Lerato Nkhetsé says a little has been done to address issues of Basotho nationals working and residing illegally in SA, especially those who were recently arrested for illegal mining.

Nkhetsé says they have realized that officials are hesitant to completely close all the disused shafts, as some are also engaged in illegal mining.

He also showed that they have managed to talk to a few Basotho who include domestic workers, to plead with them to avoid being involved in illegal activities.

He cited a case where some Basotho domestic workers based in the Limpopo province, have been ill-treating children under their care, where one of these children is said to have died.
