The director of elections Mr. Mpaiphele Maqutu says the Independent Electoral Commission has complied with last week’s Constitutional Court order which instructed the commission to correct 20 constituencies which did not comply with the quota required for the delimitation of new boundaries.

Maqutu said they had to work day and night in order to comply with the court order and they have successfully managed to correct the constituencies’ boundaries as per the court’s order.

He assured the electorate that the exercise, despite having been made within a short space of time, will not have any negative implications on the commission’s electoral schedule and asked for understanding to those who will be affected by the new demarcations.
