The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced William Ruto as the new president elect of Kenya.

In his short speech after announcement, the president-elect said there is no looking back, and that Kenyans are looking to the future, saying they need all hands on deck to move forward.

Ruto said there are no losers and that the people of Kenya have won because they raised the political bar.

He led a tight presidential race against opposition leader Raila Odinga.
