Retired police officer and also former Lesotho Mounted Police Service Public Relations Officer Dr. Clifford Molefe will be contesting for elections under Lesotho Congress for Democracy as candidate for Likotsi constituency.

Dr. Molefe confirmed this saying that he has decided to go into politics so that he could be part of development of the country saying that as a sports person it is saddening to see sports not developing at all in the country.

He said that Basotho youth have talent which needs to be nurtured so that they could make a living out of sporting codes like soccer, cricket and volleyball to mention a few.

He noted that it is his dream to see sports becoming professional in the country therefore saying that being in politics could be a good move in the right direction.

On the other hand, Media Institute of Southern Africa Lesotho Chapter Chairperson Mr. Nkoale Ts’oana said they do not have a problem with Molefeo joing politics as long as he separates journalism and politics.
