The National Aids Commission is holding a two-day workshop for media practitioners in Berea starting today.

NAC’s Chief Executive Officer Ms. Lebohang Mothae said there is a need to engage media in the dissemination of information on HIV/AIDS related matters, as the main supplier of information to the nation.

Mothae said currently, the initiatives that the country has been putting in place towards the fight against HIV/AIDS has by far been a success as it has put Lesotho in a satisfactory epidemic control.

She showed that through the engagement of all relevant stakeholders in the fight against HI/AIDS, the disease can be controlled and pushed towards a zero percent infection rate by 2030.

The Programs Manager of the National Aids Commission, Ms. Tiisetso Pite revealed that infection rate in young adolescent girls and young women still remains the biggest challenge which she said, could be addressed as long as information is well disseminated.
