The Minister of Communications, Science and Technology Mr. Tsóinyana Rapapa has confirmed the death of the Lesotho Defense Force member, who lost his life during a crossfire with the insurgents in Mozambique.

Rapapa said there were a total of eight LDF members who were involved in the crossfire, where one of them lost his life while seven others are still being treated for injuries sustained during the incident.

He said they are being treated by the army doctors who are also in Mozambique for the peace keeping mission of the Southern Africa Development Community. However, he declined to reveal the identity of the deceased as well as those recovering from injuries.

Rapapa also conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Government to the bereaved family and the entire Basotho nation.
