The High Court of Lesotho will hear a case in which HOPE and its leader, Mrs. Machabana Lemphane-Letsie, are challenging appointments of some Basotho to Lesotho diplomatic missions abroad. The case will be heard this Thursday.

The applicants seek a declaration that the government does not have the power to appoint the respondents to the positions in the Lesotho Diplomatic missions, in the period between the dissolution of parliament and coming into force of the succeeding parliament.

The applicants are seeking a court order that, pending finalization of the matter, the Prime Minister and Public Service Commission be interdicted from continuing with the process of employing the diplomatic mission, to respective positions.

They amongst others, insist that, the decision to appoint or employ to the positions at the Lesotho diplomatic mission, be reviewed, corrected and set aside.
