Anything that helps reduce the misuse of government’s funds in different ministries and departments should be implemented. These include the termination of unlawful appointments in Ministries, Departments and Agencies

This was said by the Economist, Mr. Majakathata Mokuena-Thakhisi when commenting on the Ministry of Public Service’s circular indicating that the government has made a decision to terminate some unlawful appointments.

Mr. Mokuena Thakhisi said this is a good move unless the government is planning to carry out political recruitments saying, that would be detrimental to the growth of this country.

He said one would not be surprised if some of the officers who were unlawfully appointed do not even work for the government, saying that would amount to fraud.

He expressed hope that termination of such appointments will help improve the government’s budget.
