Stagnating economy of Lesotho and mostly lack of finances are the biggest challenges the country is facing. Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane- the minister of foreign affairs said this earlier today as he outlined some of the challenges facing the Lesotho Defence Force contigent deployed in Mozambique.
Mpotjoane said the Prime Minister’s visit to Mozambique was to identify the challenges that the contingent is facing. He said that some of the challenges identified by PM were resolved immediately, while others will be discussed with those responsible.
The commander of the Lesotho army, Lt Gen Mojalefa Letsoela said, the PM’s visit was beneficial as it raised the morale of the soldiers. Lt Gen Letsoela said that although there are several challenges facing those troops, there are also successes such as helping to stabilize the situation in the Cabo Delgado region in cooperation with their SADC counterparts.
