The Free State Police Spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng says there has not been any progress in tracking down the relatives of one Mosotho man who died in hospital in Welkom some weeks ago.
This follows the release of a media statement by Provincial Commissioner in Free State on behalf of Odendaalsrus police, requesting the community to help trace suspects and relatives of a 22-year-old Mothabiso Lekeba who was allegedly stabbed at Odendaalsrus taxi rank on the 14th of this month.
The statement further said that on the 21st of this month, Ordendaalsrus police were summoned to Bongani hospital and upon arrival, they were informed about an unknown man who has passed on, had severe head injuries and the suspicion is that he was stabbed with a sharp instrument.
It indicated that preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased originates from Lesotho.
