After 19 years since Habaka Mahao and Souru Masupha were murdered by Lephuthela Ntsie, the high court has today handed down its sentences. Ntsie was sentenced to 20 and 21 years imprisonment on these two counts, and they will run concurrently.
Ntsie’s sentence comes after 11 years since fleeing to South Africa during his sentence reading back in 2012, when the court had adjourned for lunch.
Judge ‘Maseforo Mahase mentioned that, Ntsie should be grateful that among these charges he was not also accused of having an illegal firearm which he used in his pre-meditated murder of both these men back in 2004 at Khorong Ha Tṥosane.
His sentence was read without the presence of his lawyer Advocate Raboloetse Makara, who recused himself from the case this morning.
