After announcing that he is going to assist a man who was assaulted by public taxi owners last week, advocate Letuka Molati has confirmed that he has met the man Kopeli Tsoako of Ha Lebamang Nyokosoba and has opened a case of assault and attempted murder.

Adv. Molati said it is wrong for people to take law into their own hands and that, because this has become a habit, it will end up causing unnecessary killings if not resolved. He called on the taxi owners to inspect themselves and deal with matters according to the law.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of Maseru Region Transport Taxi Owners (MRTO) Mr. Lebohang Moea said, they regret the incident but they also promise Basotho that they will meet with those concerned. Moea pointed out that Taxi owners are unhappy that private car owners are illegally transporting passengers while taxi owners are the ones paying tax and licensed to carry passengers.
