Police campaigns in the fight against stock theft and illegal firearms which were launched last month are continuing as expected.
This has been confirmed by police spokesperson Senior Insp. Mpiti Mopeli, who told PC FM that these two campaigns are part of the main campaign ‘Operation pholoso’-a joint security forces’ campaign which was formed this month to curb the ever-increasing killings in the country
Mopeli said in these two campaigns, people are voluntarily handing over illegal firearms to the police, while some are being arrested by the police throughout the country.
He therefore appealed to those who still possess illegal weapons to hand them over to the police.
