The European Union-Lesotho in collaboration with British High commission is running a competition for girls aged between the ages of 14-18, aimed at celebrating International Women’s Day.

This was stated by the Public relations officer at EU-Lesotho Mrs. Mookho Makhetha who said they decided to join forces with other embassies including the British high commission by running a competition and selecting girls who will shadow the ambassadors on the 8th of next month as they celebrate the International Women’s Day.

Makhetha said while the British high commission is the one taking a lead in this project, they have for the past years, ran their own projects that are aimed at inclusion of young people especially girls on the work done in diplomatic missions in the country.

Makhetha further said the winner will shadow ambassadors and that diplomatic missions that will join them in this celebration include the South African High commission and Chinese embassy.

Meanwhile, the EU-Lesotho has shown its support for the people of Ukraine in a statement that emphasized the support of the EU countries to the Ukraine’s sovereignty, just days before the one-year mark of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
