The former Principal Secretary of the ministry of communications, science and technology Mr. Tankiso Phapano says the joined special task force that the prime minister has put together needs a budget in order to operate without hindrance.
Phapano said this during an interview with this station where he mentioned that he applauds the prime minister for having realised that crime has become a huge problem in the country.
He said government has taken the right move to curb crime as failure to do so, would drive away investors which in turn will affect the economy.
Phapano said both ministries of finance and security should by now have a plan on how this task force will operate, in order for it to be a success.
He said crime is a sign of uncontrollable corruption and if it cannot be dealt with, it will result in a country that does abide by the rule of law.
Phapano therefore said, there is a need for Basotho to support this task force so that it fulfils its mandate.
